U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From DuPont

Michael Frank Wilson, 85, died on November 24, 2018 at his home in Chattanooga.

He was born July 18, 1933 in Penang, Malaysia, the son of Frank Ernest Wilson and Huberta Ruysenaars Wilson.  With his family, he lived in different areas of the Far East until he was 10 when he relocated to England to attend school.  He served three years in the RAF before immigrating to the United States at the age of 23.  He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He spent his entire career with the DuPont Company in various locations, coming in 1987 to the Chattanooga plant, from which he retired.  He loved to travel, especially to the coast of Maine, and enjoyed photography and watercolor painting.

He is survived by his wife, Amber; daughter, Dawn Wilson of Placitas, N.M.; son, Christopher Wilson of Baltimore, Md.; grandson, Maxwell Bush of Rio Rancho, NM; sisters, Diana Wilson Angood of France and Barbara Wilson Shannon of Suffolk, England. He also leaves stepdaughters, Alisa Hardy, Sarah Mentzer and Susan Hardy; three step-grandchildren, Charlotte Deering, Amanda Callahan and Will Callahan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home. 

A reception will immediately follow the service at the funeral home.

Waggoner Pleads Guilty To 2nd-Degree Murder In 2016 Death Of Bradley Aaron Powell, Whose Body Was Found On Lookout

The trial of the Chattanooga man accused of killing Bradley Aaron Powell in 2016 was supposed to begin Tuesday.
