Wednesday, December 5, 2018

Planet Fitness announced today that its five locations in the Chattanooga area will host a 12-hour “Runathon” beginning at 8 a.m. on Dec. 11 to support the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. The participating Planet Fitness locations are Chattanooga, Hixson, Cleveland, Fort Oglethorpe and Dalton.

Ultrarunner Trinity Davis will plan to run the full 12-hours at the newly-updated Lee Highway location, accompanied by a DJ.  Planet Fitness members and the local community are invited to walk, jog or run at their own pace for 30-minute segments on designated treadmills from 8 a.m. through 8 p.m. Participants are recommended to donate $5 and one hundred percent of the donations will be given to Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.  Planet Fitness will match every donation.

“Children’s Hospital at Erlanger is an important piece of our community, and Planet Fitness is proud to give back to this organization,” says Cambrie Gagliardi, director of marketing for Planet Fitness. “We invite the community to come in to any of our five Chattanooga area locations on Dec. 11 and support our initiative. Run, jog, or walk – all are welcome.”

To sign-up for a 30-minute time slot at any of the five Chattanooga Planet Fitness locations, call or visit the front desk of your preferred location. Donations can also be made to Children’s Hospital at Erlanger at erlanger.org/sunny.

In honor of the Runathon, members can join for a 25¢ sign-up fee and then $10 a month with no commitment. Rates will be discounted until Monday, Dec. 10.
