Kenneth “Ken” Ray Strickland, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at his home.

He was the son of the late Glen and Margaret Strickland and was preceded in death by his brother, Hubert Glen Strickland. Ken was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a 1971 graduate of Southern Technical Institute in Marietta, Ga. Ken retired as an associate electrical engineer with TVA.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jenith Thomas Strickland, son, Matthew Scott Strickland, grandson, Matthew Scott Strickland II, all of Chattanooga, granddaughter, Kaylee Taylor Strickland of Westminster, Md. and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Kenneth Schoening officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military rites being conducted at the cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, prior to the funeral service.                  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Silverdale Baptist Church Missions Fund, 7236 Bonny Oaks Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
