James “Jim” Merrill Myers, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on December 4, 2018 at the age of 68.

Jim is survived by his children, Chris Myers and Candy (James) Reed; grandchildren, Tyler (Hayley) Reed and Lynae Myers; great-grandchildren, Pierce and Piper Reed; mother, Clara Breon; siblings, Doug Myers, Myra Myers, Connie Boring, and Allen Jones and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Conner Myers; father, James Myers; brother, Gregg Myers.

Jim was born in Chatsworth, Ga., on Feb. 25, 1950. He graduated from Bradley Central High School and briefly attended the University of Tennessee. He worked as an equipment salesman and won many awards in that role. 

Jim was a devoted father, grandfather, Democrat, and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, collecting guns with his son Chris, golfing, and spending time with his family. He never met a stranger and loved talking to people. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland.
