UTC Tennis Announces Spring Schedule

Thursday, December 6, 2018
University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis head coach Chuck Merzbacher announced the Mocs 2019 Spring Schedule today.  UTC has 15 homes matches on the schedule that begins in January.

Chattanooga opens with three road duals at MTSU (Jan. 16), at Alabama (Jan. 19) and at Presbyterian (Jan. 27).  The home slate starts with North Alabama on Feb. 1 and Austin Peay on Feb. 2.  Road matches at UNC Asheville (Feb. 10) and Lipscomb (Feb. 15) are followed by home doubleheaders against North Dakota and Lee on Feb.
17 and USC Upstate and Carson-Newman on Feb. 23.

"The schedule is challenging, no doubt, but this team is ready to be challenged," stated Merzbacher. "Fortunately, we are able to play quite a few matches on our new home courts! The team is excited for the spring to see how far we have progressed as a program."

UTC continues an eight-match home stand into March with visits from Tennessee Tech (March 2), Kennesaw State (March 6), Alabama A&M (March 8) and Jacksonville State (March 9).  Non-conference play concludes at the College of Charleston on March 14, followed by the Southern Conference opener at The Citadel on March 17.

UTC returns home for four SoCon matches against Furman (March 23), Mercer (March 24), Wofford (March 30) and ETSU (March 31.).  The regular season wraps up on the road at Samford (April 3) and at UNCG (April 13), while Mercer hosts the SoCon Tournament on March 18-20 in Macon, Ga.
