Katherine Tolliver
Katherine Joyce Tolliver, born September 1, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on November 24, 2018, in Houston, Texas, at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
She grew up in the Baptist faith where she united with the Tucker Baptist Church and later moved to Houston, where she united with Paradise Baptist Church and The House of Israel. She was a graduate of the 1971 Class of Riverside High School. Katherine was a 1975 graduate of Alabama A & M University in Huntsville, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Sociology.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Smyarlue Tolliver and her sisters, Dannette Tolliver and Janice Evelyn Watkins.
Katherine leaves to cherish her memories her sisters, Ruby (James) Campbell, Scottsboro, AL, Iciephine Smith and Maggie (Walter) Pendergrass, both of Chattanooga; brother, Dan (Annette) Tolliver, Chattanooga; nieces, Robin (Jermaine) Braxton, Atlanta, Thembi Huff, Chattanooga, Lakeisha (Timothy) Scotton, Ooltewah, Kristy Pendergrass, Austin, Deanna Tolliver, South Korea; nephews, Robert Lewis Tolliver, Scottsboro, Al., Danetrius Tolliver and Dan Tolliver, both of Chattanooga; aunt, Flora Harris, Cleveland, Oh.; many others that include great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, dear friends, Randy and Linda Stargin, William Daniels, Jimmy Jones, Sonny Gillard and Teddy Knox, all of Chattanooga, Annie Johnson and Prenice Reed both of Houston, Tx.
A visitation will be held from 9–11 a.m. at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 10, immediately followed by a noon graveside service at Highland Memorial Gardens with Mowreh Elqanah Ben Yisrael as the eulogist.
