Carol June Mason Rapier, 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, in a Chattanooga health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Walter W. Mason and Martha Logan Mason Douglas. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Ransom “Doc” Douglas her brother, Billy Joe Mason and her husband, James “Sonny” Rapier.

Carol retired from Hardwick Clothes with over 25 years of service. She was a huge Elvis fan and loved to eat at Shoney’s breakfast bar, however the love of her life and the thing that brought her the most joy is her family especially her grandkids.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawna Goforth and her husband, Tymn, her grandkids, Zephyniah and Nehymiah Goforth, her brother, Jerry Mason and his wife Diane, her sister, Doris Bates along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 10, at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee St. Chapel with Reverend Charles Hollifield officiating. The committal service will follow at Fort Hill Cemetery with Zephyniah and Nehymiah Goforth, Larry Mason, Dewayne Laughter, Randy Rapier and Charles Rapier serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 9, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
