Hugh Schein, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away January 24, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Therese and Berthold Schein and was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Will Andrews.

Hugh is survived by Kathy, his wife of 49 years, daughters; Jen (Stan) Obal, Lisa (Duke) Clements, son; Steven Schein, grandchildren; Lily and Stanley Obal, Megan Clements, Bela Schein, brother; Gene (Rose) Schein and many nieces and nephews.

Hugh was an entrepreneur and loved to work.  Over the course of his career, he owned several businesses, including Buckeye Forge in Cleveland and Scenic City Scooters, here in Chattanooga.  He “retired” several times, but never stopped working.  He drove a special needs school bus for Durham School Services and for the last several years drove a school bus for John Champagne Bus Services.  During his lifetime he also enjoyed playing golf, boating and most recently he loved to camp with his family.

He was a loving husband, father and Papa as well as a good friend to many.  While we are glad that he is Home and not sick anymore, we will all miss him tremendously.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, at Burks United Methodist Church, 6433 Hixson Pike, Hixson, TN 37343, with Dr. Tony Collins officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10, at the church  from 1-3 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bibles for Burks Kids c/o Burks UMC.
