The Literacy Committee of the Chickamauga Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is providing American History books to children of immigrants taking English as a Second Language classes in the Brainerd area.
This project was initiated based on member Lisa Garbee’s observation of children of ESL students waiting idly while their parents attended class.
Children’s American History books will teach both reading and the history of their adopted country.
The Board of the Chattanooga Area Historical Association has made a $100 contribution to the Chickamauga Chapter DAR to further this project. To support this activity email email@example.com.
