Woman Flees From East Ridge Traffic Stop; Hits Car With 3 People Inside

A woman led police on a chase on Friday night and wound up hitting a vehicle with three people inside.

The woman and the three occupants of the other vehicle were all taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 9:20 p,m,, a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop in East Ridge involving the female motorist. As the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the female driver refused to stop and fled the scene. 

A pursuit would then ensue that would lead deputies and other law enforcement agencies to Interstate 24. During the course of the pursuit, the female driver attempted to unsuccessfully hit a Sheriff's Office patrol unit and eventually hit the other motorist.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol worked the crash and is conducting an investigation.

The woman was facing numerous charges, including aggravated assault.
