Some Former Office Holders Running In Red Bank, Signal Mountain, East Ridge

Some former municipal office holders plan to be on the ballot in the upcoming November election.

Bill Lusk, one-time Signal Mountain mayor, is running for a council seat. Joe Durek is also a candidate. Mr. Lusk was mayor of Signal Mountain for three terms 2008-2014.  He served on the council a total of 10 years from 2006-2016.

Jim Bethune, former East Ridge vice mayor, is vying for mayor. Brian Williams, who is currently on the East Ridge City Council, is another mayor contender. The current mayor, Brent Lambert, recently lost a County Commission race.

Denny Manning also wants to go back on the East Ridge Council. Incumbent Jacky Cagle is seeking a new term. Others who may run include Mike Chauney, Bob Gilreath Jr., Robert Jones, Gregg Shipley and Andrea Witt.

Patricia Cassidy, who was the first elected court clerk for East Ridge, is seeking a second term. Also running is Doris Rogers. Wayne Thompson has picked up papers.

Ruth Jeno, who was once on the Red Bank City Commission, is running again. She is seeking the commissioner-at-large seat. Terry Pope is running for District 1 and Edward LeCompte for District 3.

Incumbents Robert Cothran and Rick Nunley have picked up for Soddy Daisy Commission posts.

Phil Garvey plans to run for Collegedale commissioner. Ethan White has picked up papers.

The qualifying deadline is Aug. 16.
