Phyllis George
Phyllis Mundy George, 90, of Ooltewah, and formerly of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Phyllis was sent to Glory on the 22nd anniversary of when God separated she and her husband, William Randolph George on earth. On that same anniversary God reunited them in Heaven! Together they are with their Savior for eternity! Hallelujah!
She was born in Winston Salem, North Carolina and raised in Connecticut. She was of the Lutheran faith and although she was a retired educator, she never lost her passion for education. She lived most of her life in Chapel Hill, N.C. until she was widowed and joined her son in Chattanooga.
Surviving are her daughter, Teresa George (Jim) Wright of Carlisle, Ky.; son, Lloyd Davis (Kimberly Kyriakidis) George of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Lt. Matthew Davis George, Alexandria Eleni George and Christopher Theodore George; and nephews, Davis (Denise) Waters and Michael (Trudi) Waters, both of Hillsborough, N.C.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 822 Belvoir, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421, with Pastor H. Christopher Sheets officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 822 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
In honor of Phyllis’ passion for University of North Carolina, attendees are encouraged to wear Carolina Blue attire.
