Reviews of The Black Pirate:
“One of the silent era’s most spectacular action blockbusters . . . Fairbanks’s astonishing acrobatics remain dazzling today." -- Steven D.
Greydanus (Decent Films Guide)
The original pirate blockbuster!
Sworn to avenge his father's murder, a young aristocrat takes on a new role as an infamous pirate, cheerfully pillaging the seven seas until he achieves proper justice.
This rapid-paced, silent Douglas Fairbanks swashbuckler, rampant with amazing stunt work and shot in two-strip Technicolor, is topnotch fun.
