Local textile artist Maggie Pate is hosting a community event to celebrate the release of her first book, The Natural Colors Cookbook: Custom Hues for Your Fabrics Made Simple Using Food.
This book is a guide to creating a spectrum of organic dyes using seasonal produce and leftover food.
Ms. Pate will be at Annie Hanks Studio, 1810 East Main St., on Wednesday, June 20, from 4-7 p.m. Guests may meet her and ask questions and learn about the significance of the food waste dyeing process.
The book will be available for purchase at the event.
For more information about the book, please contact Ms. Pate at Maggie@nade-studio.com or follow her at @maggie_pate / @NadeStudio.
