James Evans, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in a local health care facility.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Delores Evans; parents, James Evans and Annie Turner, and two sisters.
Survivors include his daughters, Debra (Derrick) Shaw, Kassandra Evans of South Carolina, Tracie Chatmon of Austell, Ga., Gayle Evans; sons, James (Valerie) Jennings and Rodney Jennings; sisters, Louise Tinsley; brothers-in-law, Herman Holt, Nelson Bell, and Michael Bell; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Williams; dear friends, Betty Braxton, Al Robinson and Archie Taylor; adopted daughter and nurse, Felicia Carson; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 9, from 6-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Debra Shaw as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
