Nykia Dawnielle Fluellen was born on October 23, 1978, to Jimmy and Jacqueline Fluellen. 
 
She gave her life to Christ at the early age of four. She was a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church where she was active in the Sunday School, Youth Department, and the Choir Ministries. Nykia was educated in the Chattanooga Public School system, attended Brainerd High School, and graduated from Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University. She was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and the Ladies of the Nile Order of Eastern Star. 
 
Nykia passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018. She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, McKayla, and two sons, Zaire and Gabyrel; her grandfather, Howard Fluellen, two devoted aunts, Cynthia Atkinson and Millenese Fluellen, and a host of other relatives and many friends. 
 
Visitation will be on Friday, July 13, at 6 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. 
 
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, July 14, at noon at Westside Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Timothy D. Careathers officiating.
