James Richard Cavett, better known to his family and friends as Jim or Jimmy, died at his home in Deltona, Fl. over the weekend.
Cavett, 56, had grown up in Chattanooga where he graduated from Tyner High School in 1980.
He is survived by two children, Amanda Hammond of Deltona and Chris Cavett of Orlando and four grandchildren. He also has two older surviving brothers, including John Cavett of Chattanooga and Steve Cavett of Maitland, Fl., several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, former Chattanoogans Nancy and John Cavett, who were both living in Orlando when they died.
