James Wigley, 45, Dies In Single-Vehicle Wreck On Cummings Highway

A man died in a single-vehicle wreck on Cummings Highway at the foot of Lookout Mountain on Wednesday night.

 

The victim was identified as James Wigley, 45.

 

At approximately 10:24 p.m., the Traffic Division responded to 1970 Cummings Highway on the crash.

 

It was found that a Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Cummings Highway at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, rolled, slid across the roadway, broke through the guard rail, and came to rest approximately 100 feet off the road.

 

The driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
