Dotson, Alma Jean Sneed (Dayton)

Alma Jean Sneed Dotson, 83, of Dayton, Tennessee, passed away on January 13, 2019, at Memorial Hospital.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Rhea County and a member of White Oak Baptist Church. She loved working outside, mowing, spending time with and caring for her family and her dog Shadow.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Ruth Genoe Sneed; husband, Russell Earl Dotson; son, Rick Dotson; sisters, Lois Bishop, Rosaleen Caraway, Connie Clayton and brothers, Charles, Melvin, Al and Calvin Sneed.

She is survived by her son, James Dotson of Dayton; sisters, Thelma Roberson, Earleen Cox, Fay Wilkey, Diane Cross and Jane Dugger; brothers, Eunice Sneed and Bobby Sneed; grandchildren, Russell (Wendy) Dotson, Jessica, Matthew and Cassie Dotson; great grandchildren, Alexis and Lilah Dotson and Noah Blank and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to the staff of CHI Memorial for their care of Jean.

Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 18, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Coulter Garrison Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Interment will be at Brown Cemetery.
