A Port Orchard, Wash., man has been arrested after authorities said he flew to Chattanooga for sex with a nine-year-old girl.

Mark Douglas Gould, 49, was charged with especially aggravated exploitation of a minor.

Authorities said Gould thought he had been corresponding with the step-father of the child when actually it was an undercover officer.

Police said Gould corresponded with the officer by text and email about sex with a minor.

Police said Gould "knowingly attempted to employ a minor (nine-year-old female) to participate in the performance of, or in the production of, acts or material that includes the minor engaging in sexual activity."

Police said Gould negotiated with the "step-father" for him making a video of the girl and Gould having sex.

Gould was arrested after flying into Chattanooga on Thursday and then meeting with what turned out to be an officer.

He was taken to the Hamilton County Jail.
