Dennis Randal “Randy” Blackburn, 64, of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019.  

He was a graduate of Marion County High School, Class of 1972, and received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Tennessee Technological University in 1980.  Randy was retired from Tennessee Consolidated Coal Company and Grandview Medical Center. 

He was a former city alderman of Jasper, member of the Jasper First Baptist Church, and life member of Jasper Jaycees and Tennessee Jaycees - where he held multiple state offices and was a U.S. JCI Senator and a Past Commander of the Volunteer Corp.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Blackburn. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Andrea “Andy”  (neé Kennedy) Blackburn; mother, Olene Blackburn; daughter, Amy (Eric) Tompkins, of Murfreesboro, Tn.; son, Will Blackburn, of San Francisco, Ca.; brother, Steve (Vicki); grandson, Theo Tompkins; and nephews, Rob (Carina), of Emerald Hills, Ca., and Jason (Bethany) Blackburn, of Pittsburgh, Pa.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 1, from 4-8 p.m. CST and Saturday, Feb. 2, from 12-2 p.m. CST.

Funeral services will be held following visitation on Saturday, at 2 p.m. CST in the chapel at Tate Funeral Home which will be officiated by Pastor Greg Steele.

Interment to follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, Tn.
