Greever, James Hutton

James Hutton Greever, affectionately known as “Hut”, 54, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at his residence. 

He was a 1982 graduate of Red Bank High School and attended college at UTC. Hut was very good with a camera. He worked in television and video production for a local news affiliate and video production for a commercial production team. Hut loved film and dreamed of one day becoming a film-maker.

Hut was preceded in death by his father, former United Methodist Minister, Reverend James H. Greever, Sr.; and two aunts, Katherine Granert and Almeda Granert.

Those he leaves behind are his mother, Peggy Greever of Chattanooga; sons, James W. P. Dietzen of Chattanooga and Andrew Greever of Birmingham; daughters, Megan Greever of Chattanooga and Sarah Boggs of Seattle, Wa.; brother, Philip (Melissa) Greever of East Ridge; sisters, Shelia (Robert) Barber of Salem, Va., and Kay (Martin) Smith of Lewisburg, W.V.; and his aunt, Bobbie Webb of South Pittsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested to please donate to the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.

A private service will be held at a later date.
