A jailed Chattanooga man is facing a charge of criminal exposure of HIV after he accosted a staff member with a cup of the man’s urine.
Last Friday, Christopher Johnson, 34, was in Silverdale Correctional Facility for a 2017 robbery and subsequent escape from prison.
According to police, the HIV positive threw a cup of his own urine at a staff member.
The cup struck the staffer on the side of his face, with some of the fluid going into his mouth. According to police, it was known throughout the facility that Johnson is HIV positive.
Because even Johnson himself knows he is HIV positive, he is being charged with criminal exposure to HIV.
