A homeless man has been charged by East Ridge Police with littering woods near 5736 Ringgold Road.

Marcus Faulkner, 46, was charged with aggravated criminal littering and was taken to jail.

An officer said he was patrolling that area on Monday when he noticed a bicycle near Spring Creek. He then saw Faulkner coming out of the woods.

He said Faulkner escorted him to his camp site, where he found several piles of trash. He said one pile of trash was about five feet wide and five feet tall. It contained his personal belongings as well as trash.

The officer said Faulkner had several bikes that were taken apart throughout the woods.

He said Faulkner had been warned several times not to camp in the woods and to pick up his trash, which he refused.
