Randy Fairbanks
True to their word in recent political announcements, Randy Fairbanks and Marty Haynes are in the race for assessor of property.
The two longtime Republicans both picked up qualifying papers on the first day possible.
Mr. Fairbanks said he plans to stay on as County Commission chairman during the race.
Mr. Haynes will be trying to win a second four-year term in the office. He won election after Bill Bennett chose to retire. Mr. Haynes is also a former County Commission member.
The assessor is the only county race on the ballot next year.
The Presidential Preference Primary and state and county primary are March 3.
The qualifying deadline is Dec. 12.
The general election will be Aug. 6.
