Bill Lee Gillilan, 89, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, passed away in his home on Sunday, October 13, 2019.

Bill was born on Feb. 15, 1930 in Springfield, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Annelle Cox Gillilan. He was the son of the late Thomas Lee Gillilan and Mary Kate Souther Gillilan.

Mr. Gillilan is survived by daughters, Leanne Martin and husband, Randy, of Tunnel Hill and Cindy Bryan and husband, Keith, of Montgomery, Al.; and three grandchildren, Lauren Joyner and husband, Billy, of Atlanta, Emily Lawson of Tunnel Hill, and Ruby Bryan of Mobile, Al. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Barbara Allmon Gillilan of Marietta, Ga.; nieces and nephews; and close friend, Jean Burnett.

He graduated from Dalton High School in 1947 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1950 until 1954. He married Joyce Annelle Cox in 1957, and they began their family. Bill studied chemistry and bacteriology at Georgia State University and graduated in 1966.

Bill worked for the Georgia State Department of Health and later the Coca-Cola Company. He valued his many years at the Coca-Cola Company in the Quality Assurance Department. He retired in 1991 after 25 years.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 5-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Douglas officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Creative Arts Guild Scholarship Fund, 520 W. Waugh St, Dalton, Ga. 30720.
