Mary Jane Stanley
Mary Jane Stanley, 91, of East Ridge, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
She was an active member of Brainerd Baptist Church for over 50 years. Mary Jane taught Sunday School and was a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class. She was director of the WMU. She also served on the church phone counseling committee. She, like her husband, was a die-hard North Carolina Tar Heels basketball fan. She also enjoyed bird watching from her kitchen window. Mary Jane also was a member of the Claremont Garden Club. But, most importantly, Mary Jane was a devoted Christian wife, mother, and especially “Nana” to her grandsons whom she adored so much.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, George Stanley; parents, James and Sarah Doubles; sister, Betsy Sink; and a brother, James Doubles, Jr.
Left behind to cherish Mary Jane’s memory are her daughter, Janie Stanley Mosman and her husband Stewart; son, Tommy Stanley and his wife Beth; two grandsons, Jonathan Mosman and his wife Avery, Joseph Mosman and Jessica Browder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday October 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with her nephew, Rev. Edwin Sink officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with her beloved husband, George. Rev. Dr. Steve Rowland will be presiding.
