Lee Student Eliminated In 'Voice' Competition

Lee University student Jared Herzog was defeated in the Battle Rounds of the popular NBC TV show, the Voice, Monday night.

In the second round of the competition, in which a coach pairs two team members to sing a song together and then picks a winner, celebrity coach John Legend selected Will Breman over Mr. Herzog.

The two had performed a duet of the song, "Treat You Better," by Shawn Mendes in the taped episode.

All the coaches praised both singers before Mr. Legend announced the winner, and female coaches Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani both jokingly praised the looks of the two singers.

Lee students have done well on the show previously, as Jordan Smith was a past winner.
