A man wanted in connection with a murder at Madison, Ala., on Sunday night was shot in Chattanooga early Wednesday morning.
Madison Police Chief David Jernigan said Spencer Xzavier Holden, 21, of Madison, was wanted for the slaying of Zeandre Marjuan Paul Zachary, 25, behind a Kroger.
Police said Holden, after he was shot, took a taxi to the hospital in Chattanooga.
The police chief said it was not known if the two shootings were related.
Chattanooga Police said about 2:23 a.m., officers were notified of a man with a gunshot wound who arrived at a local hospital.
Police located the man who had been shot. He advised he is unsure where he was shot.
After being shot he advised he caught a ride to the hospital.
Police said once Holden is released from the hospital, he will be transported to the Hamilton County Jail to await extradition to Alabama, where he is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
