KNOXVILLE – Tennessee’s recruiting class for men’s basketball, already among the nation’s best, got even better Wednesday with the commitment of Jaden Springer.
The 6-foot-5 guard from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., announced his choice via ESPN and social media. The five-star prospect is ranked No. 16 nationally in the Class of 2020 by the 247Sports Composite.
He’s joining five-star guard Keon Johnson and four-star forward Corey Walker to comprise the best haul for Tennessee coach Rick Barnes since his first season here in 2015. The class is ranked fourth nationally behind Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina, who each have at least four commitments for next season.
Johnson, who attends the Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tenn., is the top-ranked prospect in the state and ranked No. 23 nationally. Walker, who is playing at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va., is ranked No. 36.
All three took official recruiting visits to UT the weekend of Oct. 3
