Notre Dame Tabs Gatlyn Simmons As Head Baseball Coach

Coach Gatlyn Simmons has been named the new head baseball coach at Notre Dame HS. Coach Simmons is originally from Hohenwald, TN where he was a 4 year starter at Lewis County High School.

As a catcher he helped lead his team to regional playoffs and championship games. He was recognized by LCHS as the team’s Defensive MVP, made all district during his senior year and played in the Mid TN All Star classic and Cumberland University.

Gatlyn continued his catching career at UTC playing on the club team, and as a 4 year starter for the MOCS he helped lead the team to the World Series in Kansas and a national championship in 2016.

In addition to his new role with the Irish Coach Simmons serves as the Director of the Fury travel baseball program, and most recently served as an assistant coach at Boyd Buchanan HS.
