Harlon Steve Elrod, 60, of Dayton, passed away Friday afternoon, November 8, 2019, in Chattanooga.

Steve was born on Aug. 17, 1959, in Punta Gorda, FL and lived most of his life in Rhea County. He was a graduate of Rhea County High School, class of 1977. Steve served his country with the United States Army and had been employed as a pipefitter.

He is survived by his mother Della (Tollett) Elrod Brewer and his sister Melinda (Steve) Calbaugh both of Dayton. He is also survived by three children, Shawn, Ashley and Allen and five grandchildren. In addition he is survived by his niece Melissa (Matt) Bishop and special nephew and niece Canyon and Maddie Bishop all of Dayton. Steve was preceded in death by his father Melvin Elrod.

Funeral services for Steve will be held Monday, November 11, at noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lane Davis officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors next to his father in Spring City Memorial Gardens.
