Charles Billy “Bill” Mashburn, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away November 12, 2019 at his residence.

Bill was the son of the late Jeff B. Mashburn and Rowena Hall Mashburn.

He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Karen Mashburn; paternal grandparents, J.R. and Julia “Fronie” Mashburn; maternal grandparents, Fronnie and Clement Hall; and mother and father in-law, Harley and Beatrice Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Davis Mashburn; son and daughter in-law, Brian and Donna Mashburn; half sisters and brother, Shirley Terry, Joannie Green and Mark Mashburn; step-mother, Goldie Mashburn; and grandchildren, Hunter and Emily Mashburn Guinn and Jacob Mashburn.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill had served as a deacon at Maple Grove Baptist Church in Resaca, Ga. since 1993. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft mechanic from 1957-1961. He worked at Coronet Carpet for 29 ½ years and at Dalton Utilities until his retirement.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Parker and Rev. Shane Cloer officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Mashburn, Hunter Guinn, Tim Davis, Andrew Hambright, Greg Davis and Jeffrey Davis. Burial will follow in Resaca, Ga. at Maple Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
