John Fields Jr., 64, of East Ridge, passed away on November 17, 2019.

He graduated from East Ridge High School. John was a member of Greenslake Road Church of Christ. He was a lifelong public servant, he served in many capacities within the local fire and police departments. John was a former reserve officer for the City of East Ridge Police Department, prior to East Ridge he served as Fire Chief in Catoosa County. John retired as an assistant chief with the East Ridge Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by parents, John William Fields, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Gibert Fields.

Left behind to cherish John’s memory are his wife, Cathy Fields; sons, Jamie (Julia) Fields; Johnny Fields; and Jacob Fields; grandchildren, Tucker; Peyton; Maddox; Will; Georgia; and Jaxon Fields; and one sister, Linda (David) Cass, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, at the Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20. He will be laid to rest in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

Arrangements are under the care of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist East Chapel, 404 South Moore Rd. East Ridge, Tn. 37412.
