James W. "Jim" McRae, 87, of Chattanooga, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

 

He was born in High Point, NC on July 6, 1932 to the late Scott and Ellen McRae.  Jim graduated from Allen Jay High School and was a Korean Conflict veteran.  He was a talented furniture designer, manufacturer and sales man.  Jim was an outgoing person and one who never met a stranger. Jim loved his Tennessee Walking Horses.

 

He was preceded in death by his a sister, Sarah Francis Griffin.

 

Jim is survived by his daughters, Joan (William) Adair, Cindy McRae and Janice (Jack) Adams; sister, Barbara Johnson; granddaughter, Jacqueline Adams and many nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date.  Jim was buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

 

The family would like to thank Sarah and Ruby with Hospice of Chattanooga.
