Joseph Pratt
Joseph "Joe" Romulus Pratt, Jr., 71, of Chattanooga passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
He was born Feb. 6, 1948, in West Point, Ga. He grew up in Kingston, Ga. He worked as a finance manager in the auto and boat industries. He was a longtime high school basketball and football official in Georgia and Tennessee.
Joe joined St. Paul's Episcopal Church when he married his wife, Liz Duncan in 1994. He was a faithful member and longtime usher who provided years of loyal service to St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He served as Commander for American Legion Post 95 in East Ridge. Joe was an outgoing person who loved people, playing golf, his ’41 Willy’s and his grandkids until he was stricken with a neurological disease (FXTAS) in his 60s that greatly limited his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Betty Pratt; cousin, Charles Pratt.
Survivors include his loving wife, Liz Duncan Pratt; daughter, April Pratt (Jody)Hardin; grandchildren, Savannah and Cody Hardin.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.
Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. before the service in the Key-Andrews Hall.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors by Post 95 Honor Guard.
A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held at the American Legion Post 95 on Ringgold Road following services at the church.
