Firefighters rushed to a fire on an interstate ramp on Wednesday night, arriving to find a burning 18-wheeler.
It happened at 10:30 p.m. on the exit ramp of I-24 eastbound to I-75 southbound.
The East Ridge Fire Department arrived first and started to attack the fire, but more water and manpower was needed.
Chattanooga units were already on the way and got on the scene to help get the fire out.
Multiple units from both fire departments were part of the operation, as well as Chattanooga and East Ridge police.
The truck is a total loss, but, thankfully, the driver was not injured.
Responding officials say the tractor trailer struck a side wall and then caught on fire.
The ramp from 24 to 75 was temporarily shut down for clean up and investigation.
