The Hamilton County Republican Women’s Club's donation of over $6,000.00 has placed Wreaths across Chattanooga on the way to setting a local fundraising record of over 10,000 wreaths.
These wreaths will be placed on graves at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 14 at noon.
Officials said, "The mission of Wreaths across Chattanooga is to lay a wreath on every gravestone at Chattanooga National Cemetery, and in so doing is to: Remember - all Chattanooga area veterans who service our county, Honor - the lives of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice; and Teach - the value of freedom and about those who protected our freedom.
"This is an opportunity to connect 'The Greatest Generations' with the 'Generation of Hope,' and an opportunity to honor our Chattanooga Heroes."
To donate to Wreaths Across Chattanooga, mail a check payable to: Wreaths Across Chattanooga, Attn: Captin Mickey McCamish, 180 Hamm Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37405.
