The Tennessee Vols turned to their running game after the passing did not work out early in a rain-plagued home victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday night. The Vols won 28-10 after leading 21-3 at the half.
Tennessee finished the regular season at 7-5 after bouncing back from a disastrous start.
Freshman Eric Gray had a break-out game, including two long touchdown runs. He finished with 247 yards on 25 carries.
Tim Jordan had 11 carries for 39 yards.
Jarrett Guaratano went most all the way despite a slow start. He six of 17 passes for 120 yards, and also ran for one first down.
The Commodores finish at 3-9.
The start of the game was delayed about 30 minutes due to potential lightning strikes, and there was a second delay near the end.
