Demetrus Coonrod Elected To The National League Of Cities Leadership For National Black Caucus Of Elected Officials

District 9 Councilwoman Demetrus Coonrod was elected to leadership in the National League of Cities (NLC) Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials (NBC-LEO). NBC-LEO serves as a peer network for black municipal officials. Ms. Coonrod was elected during the 2019 City Summit in San Antonio.

Ms. Coonrod said, “Serving is an honor. As regional director I will have the opportunity to advocate for issues that are important to the citizens of Chattanooga at a federal level and gain valuable knowledge to improve the quality of life of citizens at the local level.”

NBC-Leo provides a space for elected officials to connect and advocate for policies that benefit their community.

Members benefit from networking as well as education and learning. NBC-LEO also guides and influence NLC’s advocacy platform.

NBC-LEO Regional Director 12: Councilmember Demetrus Coonrod, Chattanooga, Tn.
