Boyd, Buford (South Pittsburg)

Buford Boyd, 77, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, died on Monday, December 9, 2019, in a Chattanooga hospital.

The son of the late James Oscar & Nellie Lucille Marshall Boyd, he was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he had served as a choir member, usher, and as a former Trustee. He retired from Lodge Manufacturing after 22 years of service. He was an avid South Pittsburg Pirate and University of Tennessee football fan and loved being retired.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Dean Boyd, Vernon Boyd, and Donald “Peanut” Boyd.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty King Boyd; daughters, Sharon Boyd and Linette (Charles) Everett; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from Grace Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, Dec. 12, with Reverend Ronnie Case officiating. Interment will be at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 5–8 p.m. Central Time at the funeral home and on Thursday, Dec. 12, from noon until service time at the church.
