Carolyn Caldwell
Carolyn Rice Adams Caldwell, 83, of Chattanooga passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019.
She was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of Brainerd United Methodist Church, the Friendship Sunday School Class, and the United Methodist Women. She had volunteered and served on the Board of the Arthritis Foundation and was facilitator for the first Fibromyalgia Support Group in Chattanooga. She was a retired federal employee, having worked for the Panama Canal Company and the U.S. Army Signal Corp in the Panama Canal Zone, the General Services Administration in Chattanooga, and she retired from the Internal Revenue Service, Eastgate Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde R. Caldwell, Sr., brother, Lillard L. (Dub) Rice, Jr., mother, Margaret Elizabeth Rice, father, Lillard L. Rice, Sr., and son-in-law, Dr. Bruce E. Dahrling, II.
She is survived by her son, Ray (Phyllis) Adams of Rossville, daughter, Sheri Adams Dahrling of Hixson, grandson, Jeremy (Sarah) Adams, and great-grandchildren, Hayden and Marshall of Atlanta, sister, Barbara Roberts and nephews, Bill, Richard and Glenn Roberts.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Monday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Hospice of Chattanooga.
