A gun owner has been arrested after his gun accidentally fired on Thursday night at Cleveland State.
Cleveland State Community College Police and Cleveland Police were called to the Cleveland-Bradley Business Incubator on the campus of Cleveland State Community College on Thursday evening.
A visitor to the incubator, who has a concealed carry permit, accidentally fired the weapon while showing it to a friend.
Officers responding to the scene say no one was injured in the mishap and any damage as a result of the gun discharging was minimal.
Officers arrested and charged the gun owner in connection with the incident which took place at approximately 6:30 p.m.
Investigators confirm there was no ongoing threat and the incident was handled swiftly by authorities.
“Regardless of whether the shooting was accidental or not, we take the safety of all of our students and visitors to campus seriously,” said Cleveland State Community College President Dr. Bill Seymour. No further word on the charges the person will face as a result of the shooting.
