At the young age of 45 years, Nathan “Jack” Jackson Lewis, III was called home on Saturday, November 30, 2019.
Jack was born in Madisonville, KY on April 21, 1974. He had moved with his family numerous years ago to Jasper, Tn. Jack had been employed with various manufacturing companies during his lifetime. He attended the McKendree United Methodist Church in Jasper.
Jack, through his years of being a member of the Boy Scouts of America, led him to spending his spare time traveling, camping, caving, and hiking. He was an avid member of the Alcoholic Anonymous Program. Jack was known to be very open and honest to help others in their addictions as he shared his journey. He also cherished his time by visiting hospitals by costuming in many different characters to bringing smiles to sick children. Jack was known for his love of others and sharing his special gifts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan J. Lewis, Jr.; grandparents, Nathan J. Lewis, Sr. and Anna Lois Lewis and grandfather, William L. Whitworth.
Jack leaves behind loved ones to cherish his memory as his mother, Brenda Lewis; sister, Meghan Lewis; grandmother, Marjorie Whitworth; aunt, Billie Fulton (Bo); and nephew, Kyle Curtis.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at noon at the McKendree United Methodist Church in Jasper, with Reverend Joseph W. Manis officiating.
The family will have a light reception following the service at the church.
Jack will be laid to rest at a later date in a private ceremony.
