East Ridge Police have charged a couple with stealing almost $6,000 in items from a storage facility.

Police said Junior Lee Beck, II, 23, and Angela Redmond also cashed checks stolen from the storage unit to themselves.

They are charged with criminal conspiracy, burglary, theft over $1,000, forgery and theft under $1,000.

Police said the owner of the storage unit reported his losses on Oct. 8. He said the theft happened sometime in the first week of August.

His unit was directly across from one rented by Ms. Redmond.

The owner said he found that two of his personal checks taken from the storage unit had been cashed. He said one check for $200 had been forged and made out to Ms. Redmond and the second for $210 had been forged and made out to Beck.
