Donna Chase
On April 7, 1958, John P. Hudson and Orpha Bandy Hudson (deceased) bore an angel into this world. Her name was Donna Sue Chase.
Some of you know her as Sue and some call her Donna, but all who were blessed to know her loved and adored her. She was born in Chattanooga and remained in Chattanooga her whole life, which has resulted in many long and cherished friendships. She graduated from City High School and went on to attend the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She happily married Ken Chase in 1983 which resulted in two wonderful children, Brian and Allie Chase. If you were to ask her what her greatest accomplishment was, she would say it was her family. She unselfishly gave all her time and effort to those she loved, her family, friends and coworkers. Rarely did she make time for herself, and doing for others is what made her happy. She has worked for Hixson High School and East Lake Elementary for the last 15+ years. She loved all her coworkers and students and received much joy from her job.
Recently, she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and was bravely fighting it with chemotherapy. After complications with a necessary surgery, she unexpectedly passed away December 7. Our angel is now in heaven with God and all her loved ones that preceded her. All who loved and cherished her are wondering how life can go on without her, but she would want us to heal and be happy. If we all strive to be more like Donna Sue Chase, the world would be a better place. We know we will see her again.
Donna Sue is survived by her husband of 36 years, Ken Chase, her son Brian Chase, his wife Julie, and their children, Makensey and Maggie. Her daughter Allison Chase and Mother-in -law, Terry Chase. Also, her sister, Gail Boyce Salese and her husband Rick. Nephew, Mark Boyce, his wife Lindsey, niece Lisa Boyce Pulley, her husband, Nathan, and their daughter Blakely.
Please join the family to celebrate her life at 12 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, in the chapel of Hamilton Funeral Home, 4506 Hixson Pike, Hixson.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 6:30-9 p.m. and on Friday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home. We welcome and encourage all family and friends to attend.
