I'm for Medicare for all provided that all pay what the current retirees pay. It ain't cheap. If you averaged $600 a week for 50 years, you and your employer paid 2.9 percent of your pay into Medicare. That's $45,240 you have paid by age 65. At 65 you will start paying $135 a month for Part B. That's $1,620 per year.
But wait, there are copays and deductibles so you must have a supplement Part G which is another $3,000 a year. This is for each of you.
I started using Medicare at 65. If I'm average I may get eight years of Medicare before I croak. So what will my Medicare cost for eight years? $82,200. $10,270 a year.
But that doesn't include all that money contributed by my classmates who didn't make it to 65. All their money went into the same big bucket of money that's pays for my Part A. So yeah, let's give everybody Medicare at maybe $11,000 a year per person.

They know they can’t pay for it. The Soviets couldn’t pay for it 100 years ago in Russia, but that didn’t stop them from a complete takeover placing everything in the hands of small councils of incompetents-which is exactly what the bartender-turned-expert on the economy is proposing. She wants only people of low-income and “frontline” workers as she calls them, administering this New Order. Again exactly like the Soviets. They don’t even try to hide it any more.
Whether it’s political theater like red hand-maiden cowls or white costumes, they are all about drama to stir the emotions of the politically naive. But what do you expect when Hollywood writes their scripts?
No air service? Replace all the buildings? This is the Twilight Zone. They know they won’t be able to do any of this, but in the Delusional World of Alternate Reality these people thrive in, it doesn’t matter, just promise it and get their vote.
Who did they chose to make the response to SOTU? A failed gubernatorial candidate with zero foreign policy or economic experience. In fact she owed over $50,000 in back federal taxes when she started her campaign last year. That just proves Margaret Thatcher’s point that socialism works until other people’s money runs out. And again it highlights political theater with no substance.
Listen carefully to the leadership of the party. They want more “shared prosperity” (that’s wealth distribution) and more gun control. It’s no coincidence the two are linked . And one possible presidential candidate, Hickenlooper, is tossing around the notion that the Trump economy really isn’t as good as we think it is. Cue the Twilight Zone theme.
Thanks to Mr. Presley clearly demonstrating the hidden costs of what Medicare is today, we can see what might sound good to a new socialist with limited experience in life, things like personal responsibility and independence from government actually are as remote as a vacation on Neptune. As long as people listen they’ll heap on the promises and hope those who have limited knowledge of economics and government take the bait.
