Chattanooga Area Under Flood Warning; High Winds Expected Saturday Night

Betty Jean Ross Pell, 79, of East Ridge, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 8, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of the north Georgia and Tennessee area. She was a member of the Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle, where she was married on March 3, 1957. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time and praying for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Lee and Bertha Jane Harwell Ross; brothers, Harold Harris, Roy Harris and Charles Edward Ross; sisters, Aline Hutchison and Ethel Simerley; and great-granddaughter, Selah Marie.

Survivors include her loving husband, Fred C. Pell; children, Patti (Paul) Monk, Laura (Keith) Reiffenstein, Nancy (Todd) Pettit, Libby (Paul) Stephens and Jill Tremble; grandchildren, Starr, Kristi, Rose, Rachel, Rick, Mark, Luke, Erin, Emily and Heidi; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 14 and after noon on Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 in the funeral home chapel, with Brother Justin Gazaway of Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle officiating. Burial to follow in the Anderson Memorial Gardens.
