Flu Shot: Swing And A Miss

  • Monday, February 11, 2019
Boy did it miss bigly this year. It really hurts me to see so many babies suffering. Especially when most of my social media feed are not Anti-Vaxxers like you see in the Northwest.

I know that with my family, I was the first to receive the flu shot, very early when in Nashville. My employer is emphatic about us receiving it. My wife and son followed suit, here in Hamilton County. For no real rhyme or reason they both got the flu type “A” a couple weeks ago. Hence my rampant flu article afterwards posted here on the Chattanoogan.com

Does this mean flu shots don’t work? Absolutely not, it’s medicine, not physics.
It’s not an exact science, it’s practiced. The CDC uses an educated guess on which of many strains will be going around. Quite frankly, they missed this year. Look for them to eat crow in a few weeks.

So as previously stated, keep an eye out for any of the afore-mentioned symptoms. Last week a young child passed away from complications of the flu in Alabama. So stay vigilant, keep your kids washing their hands. Keep them from “wallering” around on the ground in a gymnasium. Keep their hands out of their mouths, etc.

Please, please, please don’t let this season keep you from flu shots in the future.
