Arvil Shirley
Arvil Shirley has been sentenced to serve eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty earlier to a gun charge.
Shirley appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice.
On Aug. 30, 2017, a deputy from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department spotted a stolen black Toyota Celica.
The driver ran from the deputy. En route, an item was thrown from the vehicle. It was later found to be a loaded short-barrel shotgun.
After the pursuit ended, Shirley ran. A female passenger was apprehended. She gave the name of the driver.
Shirley was interviewed by law enforcement on Sept. 15, 2017.
